She arrives at Everstead Hall trapped by a storm—
promised to a man she fears… and determined to find a way out.

I never intended to protect anyone again.
But I will give up everything before I let him claim her.

Rosalind Thorne storms into my life on the wings of a blizzard, fierce, brilliant, and far too tempting for a man who's buried himself alive.

Then the storm traps us together. One night. One broken carriage. One forbidden closeness. And suddenly she's walking my halls as if she belongs here, belonging to me far more than to any man waiting in London.

She challenges my control. She softens my edges. She looks at me like I'm a man worth wanting, and that is my undoing.

By the time she tells me she's meant to marry someone else, it's too late. I've fallen. And I am not a man who yields what he claims.

But when the roads clear, she's dragged back toward the man she was promised to, a cold, controlling predator.

If he thinks I'll step aside, he's mistaken because losing her isn't an option. I will sacrifice my isolation and everything I’ve built, before I ever let her go.

This is a clean, slow-burn Regency romance where protection becomes trust, and love is always chosen, never forced.

I was very disappointed in this book. I am sorry to admit that the author used prose as a lethal and painful weapon. She couldn’t say things simply and instead provided long monologues of something that could have been stated in one sentence. I couldn’t stand it after a while and had to skip the last few chapters to the end. Also, I still don’t understand why the heroine had to marry the villain. There were holes in the story which challenged things further.

Very painful
