Great Series

I love this novel in Jennifer Blake's Louisiana History series. Each novel is a stand alone story and yet all tie in to the same period in history. l like the intricacy of each plot and the characters are fascinating.

Gold standard for historical / adventure romance

Jennifer Blake is simply the best in this genre! If you like historical romance heavily laced with adventure and fast moving plot with strong interesting heroes and devious villain, this book is one of the best.
Jennifer Blake’s prose is beautiful and hero’s declaration of love at the end of the story is breathtakingly romantic....
This book is definitely a keeper 🌟

Hero is a cheater

I hate writing negative reviews, especially from this author, since she is a go to author to read and have a good story with a great story of love and happiness, even when the characters are tested.
With this being said, the hero of the story cheats on the heroine…then goes back to her bed, only to remember to wash the sweat and perfume of the other woman off him. I had to listen to this three times before I could believe that this was actually what I heard.
In all honesty, I did not finish this book. I don’t want to waste time on books/movies/shows like this. I don’t write reviews on books I don’t finish, but made an exception for this because I really wish I could have seen a review about the cheating ahead of time; I wouldn’t have wasted my time of this otherwise.
Feel free to read/listen to this book, but just know that the hero is a cheater and how no one in this story really thinks he did anything wrong…ew.
