Welcome to Spellbound, where paranormal is the new normal.

When a sleeping dwarf is found entombed in a glass coffin and remedial witch Sophie is blamed, Emma Hart must defend her friend while trying to get to the bottom of the enchantment. The investigation lands Emma smack dab in the middle of Spellbound's dating scene, where plenty of the town's residents are eager to make her acquaintance.

Emma knows it's time to kick her witchy skills up a notch if she expects to survive Thursday night speed dating and keep sweet Sophie from a life in paranormal prison.

This is my favorite volume so far in the series and I am impressed with what a lovely and easy listen these stories are. Emma continues to seem somewhat young in how she presents but this volume does not feel quite as YA as the last. The characters and community are developing really nicely and we are brought into more of the dynamics and difficulties of being a cursed town where folks can never leave and many are immortal. Also interesting is a larger overarching mystery of what coven Emma belongs to and trying to discover this through meeting several elder witches to collect clues. The crones within the book were some of my favorite characters and I am really enjoying how this larger story is beginning to unfold. The narrator is growing on me but several times she would suddenly change the voice she was doing for a character and it confused me. Highly recommend this series for a fun and easy supernatural cozy.
