Seventh-grader Dawn Hibana has an aloof dad, one odd friend, and a generally unremarkable life. Dawn often feels like the little island town of Downbeat, cloaked in a fog that rises from the surrounding river, is all there is to the magical world of Aria.

One day, on the walk to school with her depressed-yet-handsy best friend, they spot a shooting star. Although a skeptic, Dawn makes a private wish at her friend’s insistence.

She gets much more than she asked for when a nine-foot-tall giantess on a flying motorcycle drops out of the sky and bashes her face in with a bass guitar. Who is this strange woman, where did she come from, why is she so large, and what does she want from Dawn? Magical mysteries, musical magicians, and maiden marionettes are all sewn into a wild web of wonder above the foggy little town with Dawn Hibana and a giantess named Solei at the center of it all.

An interesting start

The audio quality could be better, but I'm wondering if that's just something weird in the recording. It seems to clear up partway through.

Otherwise, this is definitely a strange opening to something absolutely unique.
