After the brutal slaying of his family, British Special Forces ex-agent John Steel arrives in New York with a singular purpose: Find the person in the photograph.

Judicious NYPD detective Samantha McCall is investigating a triple homicide when Steel shows up to help find the perpetrator and bring him to justice. What at first appears to be the work of a serial killer soon turns out to be a deeper level of darkness and deceit, with relentless mercenaries, a shadowy informant and ghosts from the past for both McCall and Steel all involved.

As unexpected alliances and Steel’s personal mission reveal a complex web of treachery, will he and McCall find a way to work together and solve the case?

I enjoyed the story and would listen to a sequel. The only thing is that the female voices were terrible. Next time get a female co-reader PLEASE! I liked the action and the ending.

Story was good but.....

The story was well written. The characters had arcs and even short term characters were given enough story for the listener/reader to emphasize or get attached. I enjoyed Steel's Batmanish personality, well if Batman knew how to use sarcasm well.

The narrator has a great voice and reads in such a way that you are able to actually absorb the story. I liked his character diversity and even though his voice is deep he was able to make a decent female voice. Great diversity.

I had never heard of thos author before and am so glad I gave this a listen. If the rest of the books are this good he will have a fan in me.

Really Catchy. Well Thought Out
