I wasn’t supposed to love him. I wasn’t even supposed to acknowledge him. But my entire life, I’ve had heart-eyes for my oldest brother’s former best friend, Cortland Haven.

I can’t help it that boys can be stupid, and a feud broke apart a long-time friendship and divided once-close families.

Try as I might to ignore Cort, I didn’t miss his eyes on me from across a crowded bar, twelve years ago. Oh, the way my skin tingled under his appraisal. The way my heart pattered knowing he was looking at me.

We shared more than a moment.

Now, we’re older and wiser. And with a little over a decade age gap between us, and a divide greater than that between our families, my heart still hasn’t gotten the memo.

No, that fickle organ has other plans for Cortland and me.

Especially when the silver fox is my son’s new baseball coach and I suddenly find myself assigned as his physical therapist.

I don’t just fall for the man adverse to touch, I tumble hard for him, when he should never be mine.

Vale has loved Cortland since she was young. He's a decade older than her but a feud between him and her older brother has made them keep their distance until now. A wonderful love story. I really liked this age gap story. I'm looking forward to the next book. The narration was really good, too.

This story was just so beautiful. I absolutely loved Vale and Clint. Their stories, their past, and the way they helped each other heal was just everything.

I know I've said this before, but I absolutely love how every book in this story has been completely unique. Even though all the Sylver siblings experienced aɓuse from their father, the author has done an amazing job at showing how everyone is affected by trauma and deals with it in different ways.

Stephanie Nemeth-Parker and Lee Samuels were absolutely amazing with this narration. They did a great job at bringing all the characters' emotions to life. I truly enjoyed every minute of this story, and I can'twait to read Stone's.

Quote: “I want to love Vale with my entire being, faults and all, because Vale accepts me as I am. I’ve made mistakes. Huge ones. And she’d forgiven every one of them. She means more to me than anyone, except Josh, ever has.”

“Sometimes you need to step out of your comfort zone and into something new to really live.”
