Chase Rogan and Mason Finley fell in love as kids and had their happily-ever-after at eighteen. Or so they thought.

Over a decade after his estrangement from his ex, Chase returns to Finley Dairy to celebrate Mason's sister's engagement. But being back at the place where his fondest memories are--the place where he and Mason laughed, played, and loved--quickly ropes Chase back into those feelings all over again, reminding him of the flame he could never extinguish.

Despite his attempts at getting over Chase, Mason still can't move on--not from the greatest love he's ever known. When Chase comes back to the dairy, all those old feelings return, as powerful as ever. A wavering hope strengthens, making him believe that maybe...just maybe...they can find a way to put the past behind them and create a future together. But it isn't easy, and every time he pushes, Chase pulls away. As much as Mason wants it to work, if it doesn't, what's he supposed to do? How can you move on when--even after all the years--you know in your heart, he's still your guy?

I love the Daryl Banner novels set in the south. he always seems to get really good narrators, and those good old boys with their Gruff Southern drawls really do it for me. good character development. not for readers looking for a lot of action. this is really a character driven novel.

heartfelt AND steamy

There's nothing sweeter than childhood best friends falling in love, and then reclaiming their loves after being apart for many years. I enjoyed this story a lot, but I'm not a big fan of this narrator. He's too dramatic and over the top in the sex scenes, I felt like I was listening to a sports play-by-play at times. It was bearable, but took away from my overall enjoyment of the book.

I found this second chance m/m romance satisfying

I believe this is the best McCormack book I have read/listened to. Normally I don't get the feels with his books but with this one, he nailed it. it was steamy, heart-wrenching, heart-warming, and amazing.

Gotta say

I’ve listened to quite a few of Devon’s books and I honestly can’t say there is a single book I didn’t like. This one however blew me away. I have a new favorite.
This is a very sweet love story with some really great steamy encounters.
Thank you Devon!

I think in the first 10 minutes you can guess what this story will be about... and it probably is. Sure you can sum it up in a sentence or two but then you'll miss the amazing 8 hour ride of ups and downs and hot hot hotness! This is truly a beautiful story and the way the chemistry is shown through flashbacks and current situations between the two men/boys is just unbelievable. Yes, you'll go through laughter, tears, anger, frustration and joy... oh and hot hot hotness! I think I already mentioned that.

Devon McCormack knows how to write even a simple story in a capturing way and Michael Pauley knows how to bring the words to life. Remarkable.

A must read. Enjoy!
