Good Introduction and Example of Pastoral Counseling

I appreciate this presentation of Strategic Pastoral Counseling and how it differs from Pastoral Care. Though I may not agree with all the details, the principles of Pastoral Counseling are well established and presented well in this book.

It's okay, but could have been much better

Much more could have been said about Scripture's sufficiency to handle the most difficult counseling cases. I don't want to bash this book, but as someone who has seen God transform terrible marriages and shattered lives through biblical counseling in the church, I highly recommend “Instruments in the Redeemer's Hands” by Paul David Tripp.
