Book 22 of the Psychic Vision series

Jewel wakes up in the hospital, with no memory of what happened to her or no reason why she was found on the highway—dead. As reawakening goes, this one is brutal, but even more confusing is her instinctive grasping for a missing necklace around her neck. Had she been robbed, beaten, and dumped? If so, why? She has few friends and even fewer family members left to care, but, unlike his name, Hurricane walks into her hospital room and becomes a safe harbor for a world gone nuts.

Hurricane had been asked by Stefan to help Jewel and to take possession of a necklace, if it was deemed dangerous. Hurricane has seen a lot of dangerous and crazy things in his life, but Jewel’s current state is something new to him.

The story was great but would have been better if the reader were better. Her inflections and cadences were distracting and really didn't do justice to the words. her attempt at different voices fell flat.

This narrator completely changed the tenor of the story. I know that my opinion of the story itself was lowered due to the poor performance.
There couldn’t be a build-up of tension in the plot or between the characters because of the tension and cringing felt by the listener since Jewel seemed to be constantly whining, wailing, and being all dramatic. I came closer to returning this audiobook than I ever have for a favorite author.
Please, do everyone a favor and change narrators.
