Obsession and murder run in the blood…

DI Richard Flesch: Three words to describe my partner: Brave. Unrelenting. Haunted.

DI Sarah Sarah: Three words to describe my partner: Intelligent. Focused. CANNIBAL.

When a young girl is found tortured and mutilated at an abandoned train station, retired army captain Sarah Stone is persuaded to join a specialised police unit that is dedicated to catching serial killers. Her new partner, Richard Flesch, is the country's leading expert at catching psychopaths. Because he used to be one. He is the Chester-Le-Street Cannibal.

How can Sarah focus on catching monsters when she is forced to work with one?

I can’t say enough good things every part of it was excellent and the characters all had great chemistry as well

One of the best books I ever read

Imagine X-Files’ Mulder & Scully; only Mulder is a former serial killer (think Frank Abagnale from ‘Catch Me If You Can’). Who better to profile and catch serial killers than a former serial killer? The story and narration were outstanding, the ending twisty - didn’t see it coming. Looking forward to the next one in the series. Iain Rob Write Rocks!

I find the premise of a former serial killer trying to find redemption by assisting investigative team intriguing. Sort of like if Hannibal continued the work with the behavioral unit and repented of killing. Additionally the recruitment of a damaged vet to be the partner was also good. That she threw so much shade at her prospective partner about his history seemed over blown and excessive.

Not a bad story but
