Micah “Sully” Sullivan has settled into a solitary life at the family horse ranch after her father’s death. When her long-term vet, Doc Barton, plans to retire, his granddaughter, Bryn, arrives to take over his practice. An attack on one of Sully’s prized horses throws Sully and Bryn into a whirlwind as they fight to save the young animal. Just as Sully is becoming comfortable with her growing attraction to Bryn, tragedy occurs, and her brother and his wife are killed in an accident. Sully’s solitary life drastically changes when a family of three is born.

Sully and Bryn are just getting to know each other again. Bryn is the new Veterinarian taking over for her Grandpa and Sully's ranch trains horses. They were friends when they were little but I loved listening to their relationship blossom. Ali Spooner brings real life trial moments for this new relationship and some powerful grief they have to navigate. Kendal is something neither was ready for but love rules. Susan Knight gave voice to characters I love and feeling to powerful moments. I love this story of animals+ Sunspot is just the cutest horse- and the love they all share warms the heart. A great read and marvelous listen.

Things on the Ranch change in a hurry.

I didn’t care for the narration, because Susan Knight who is a great narrator, doesn’t know how to do children and the girl in the story sounds shrieking. I didn’t like that. So I would say that better read this book than listen to it…

The story is very good

I love audiobooks! As always Ali Spooner writes a good story. This is an enjoyable easy listening. Not my favorite of hers but still worth reading.
I am not a fan of the narrator! She sounded like she was too upbeat and trying to hard. Just not enjoyable to me.

Relaxing easy listen
