Being a single dad is hard for anyone, but I managed to make it work. I always knew my six-year-old son, Jake, was a special little guy, but even I had no idea how special he really was or the potential that both of us had for greatness. When masked men assaulted my home to kidnap him, the powers I never knew I possessed manifested themselves.

Pretty good start to what I hope is a good series

This was a pretty good start to what ai hope is a good series, plenty of alien intrigue a bit of adult content, some action and adventure, what else could a dad expect?

overall not bad

ok not a bad start, but this guy better man up about killing and he better do it fast. it's your kid and you keep letting bad guys live?!?!?! yes plot armor saves him, but it will get old if this keeps up in book 2.
I like the characters, but please stop shoehorning in LGBTQ and autism spectrum when explaining random personality traits.
again I like the book and characters, but my eyes can only roll up so much.
