After hitting the #1 spot on the New York Times list with her first novel, L.A. Candy, TV star Lauren Conrad continues the deliciously entertaining series about an ordinary girl leading an extraordinary life.

Full of dishy details about young Hollywood that only an insider can reveal, this entertaining novel shows that lies are only as sweet as the people telling them.

Jane Roberts was the average girl next door until she and her best friend, Scarlett Harp, landed their own reality show, L.A. Candy. Now the girls have an all-access pass to Hollywood's hottest everything. But there's more to life on camera than just parties and shopping....

When racy photos of Jane are leaked to the press, she finds herself at the center of a tabloid scandal. She turns to her co-star Madison Parker for help, unaware that Madison is scheming behind the scenes. She might be Jane's shoulder to cry on, but does Madison really have Jane's back?

Scarlett's working on a scandal of her own. She's fallen for someone who's strictly off-limits—which means Scarlett has a big secret to keep...from the L.A. Candy cameras, the paparazzi staking out her apartment, even from her best friend.

Of course, nothing stays secret for long for the stars of the newest hit TV series, and all this drama couldn't be better for ratings. But can Jane survive another season in the spotlight?

If you watched any of the reality shows LC appeared in this to me this is her version of what she would write had she been involved since the beginning to craft the storyline.

Reading this book now after watching both series at twice in my life. Would appeal more if the shows wasn’t on for everyone to access.

What did you like best about Sweet Little Lies? What did you like least?

Hey, I will admit I was really into The Hills. I loved watching the formulated drama, and I really liked Lauren Conrad. It all sucked me in. LC as an author - sure, she's got the research down, but the entire series is too simplified. I expected more.

If you’ve listened to books by Lauren Conrad before, how does this one compare?

I enjoy the stories as "Beach Reads". They are simple, formulaic and somewhat predictable. But so was The Hills. LC's writing is okay - but it's not going to lead to a prolific career in novel writing for her. Eventually, the story will get old.

What three words best describe Jenna Lamia’s performance?

Static, un-emotional, listenable.

Was Sweet Little Lies worth the listening time?

Meh.

The Hills; Fictionalized, Again.

The main storyline could have been wrapped up very early and the main character is made to be way too stupid.

I enjoyed the first book but this main character, Jane is selfish, disloyal and allowed new persons to change her beliefs without any critical assessment.

Although the book was written to make Jane seem naive, she was really too selfish as a friend and demanded absolute loyalty to her stupid narrow thoughts and not tell the truth which can be uncomfortable.

Painful Storyline
