Waking up in a strange world with a spear in his chest was not on Glenn's bingo card.

Then again, neither was being possessed by a sarcastic demon who insists they're partners.

But that parasitic nuisance becomes the least of his worries when he discovers the place he's been tossed into is filled with bizarre monsters, overzealous cults, and other entities hell-bent on making his life... Hell.

Now, Glenn must uncover the reason he's here and satiate his new partner if he wants to survive long enough to do something about it.

Welcome to Symbiotic Ascension, where one man's only hope lies in trusting the demon bound to him. Perfect for listeners who enjoy gritty fantasy, sharp humor, and magic with a price.

This is a wild and gritty ride. I was leery at first, but honestly this is a wonderful performance of a great story. The only gripes l honestly have is where the story cuts off, and.. honestly the pronunciation of lux.. i know that's a weird nitpick, but it's the truth.

I know how the story goes for a while from here because of Royal Road, and as enjoyable as this part is, you'll really want to catch the next couple books if you enjoyed this.

Things only get crazier from here.

not a great book. the author can't seem to make up their mind on what they want mc to be. at times he is smart and makes good choices and other times he ignores everyone and does the very obviously dumb thing that everyone he meets tells him not to do. it's only really a dark fantasy at points and for most of the book it's just a half hearted heroes journey story.

I would say pass this one up as it's not great.
