Things like this actually did happen and by exploring it, this became a real exciting mystery.

Smart and interesting

I liked the detail and different sort of path the story took. Perhaps a tad smaltzy at the very end but in general a mystery for the brain not the heart.

gruesome imagery

I am not squeamish but the gruesome imagery kept coming and there was too little story in between to offset the gross and disturbing factor.
