Are your daily supplements really supporting your health—or quietly harming it?

In Take Daily: How Supplements Hijack Your Health, wellness researcher and bestselling author Robyn Openshaw exposes the dirty secrets of the $60 billion supplement industry—and the shocking ways Big Pharma controls it.

We’ve been told that supplements are the “natural” path to wellness. But most are made in pharmaceutical labs, from synthetic ingredients like petroleum byproducts, industrial waste, rocks, and even animal glands. In this eye-opening book, Robyn pulls back the curtain on:

  • The hidden ties between drug companies and major supplement brands
  • The truth about “natural” labels—and why most aren’t what they seem
  • The misleading science used to sell vitamins that may not work
  • How your liver and kidneys pay the price for the wrong pills
  • What real, evidence-based supplementation should look like

Whether you’re a health-conscious shopper, a practitioner, or just supplement-curious, this book is a wake-up call that will forever change how you think about what you “take daily.” You’ll learn how to decode labels, identify high-risk additives, and choose truly effective, whole-food-based options that nourish your body—not your medicine cabinet.

Don’t waste another dollar or damage your health in the name of “wellness.” Listen to this book before you take another pill.

I liked the bulletpoint epilogue at the beginning of each chapter. They're very clear. Anecdotes and persuasion support them. I've been a supplement popper, and now look forward to finding balance without pills.

Robyn and Mike have clear narrative voices that are easy to listen to. Rare for an author, I think! Kuddos to you both.

This isn't a story book, but a few good stories were employed throughout. I think it would round out the book more in future editions to include more stories (testimonials?) of personal health outcomes when people overhaul their supplement routines as suggested.

Inspires intake overhaul and faith in our own bodies.

At 73 years old and beening interested and actively working with my health for over 50 years, I found this book to been a stark reminder of so many truths and lessons that I unfortunately moved away from. Not because they didn't work, but for various reasons of getting steered in a different direction. Mainly because of a Holistic health professionals.
At 73 I've managed to live my life without prescription medicine but more recently thought I needed supplements. Your booked has made me realize that I have received no benefit from spending hundreds each month on supplements and need ro be spending those same dollars on growing my own fresh vegetables and herbs.
Thank you.
Your truths are refreshing ... Continue to speak them loud and clear!!!
