Taken from her home as a young child, Elizabeth Bennet’s sense of self is shaken when the mystery behind her true identity is unraveled. Discovering her place as the daughter of a duke, she confronts reclaimed memories of her brutal abduction, while making her way in the alien world of Regency England’s high society.

Facing the ton is the least of her concerns, as her kidnappers remain determined to keep her from Fitzwilliam Darcy - the man who first professed his love by proposing she become his mistress. Humbled by her refusal, he returns to win her love and respect.

Together with her reunited family, Elizabeth faces her greatest challenges to both her life and her heart - reclaiming herself and finding her happiness.

Stevie did a beautiful job performing this rendition. I loved the story, it was so different than others. The characters all had their own journey and issues to overcome and the retribution was oh so satisfying. Definitely worth listening too.

Great story, perfectly performed

Parts of this book was great. Storyline jumped from one location to another at times which was hard to follow. Story itself was very, fictional to complete unbelievable.

Somewhat disappointed

This is a sweeping tale with kidnapping, insanity, treason and one corrupt family who schemed for domination but ended in ruin.

Elizabeth is kidnapped and her abductors intention to murder was mercifully unsuccessful. She was taken in and raised by Jane’s father, Edwin Bennet, and then given into the care of his younger brother, Thomas Bennet, whose wife, Fanny, was cruel.

She meets the Bingley party and then crosses paths with Darcy in London who has a dishonorable offer for her.

It transpires that Elizabeth is connected with Darcy which makes his offer truly devastating. Many new characters in this story and it’s often a bit difficult to keep track of all of them, thus 4 stars. It is narrated by the incomparable Stevie Zimmerman and therefore worth listening to simply for the sake of her narration.

Elizabeth is the Daughter of a Duke

The story is between a four and a five for me. This is always a fantastic narrator. The story seemed to fall a little flat in the middle; wI was a little disappointed that we never hear about Richard again after the soup dinner-doctor other than that he woke up. I feel many things were left out. However, it's a good premise and written well.

Pretty good
