I might be a country girl from the same small town of Sweetwater, Texas, as horse wrangler Roarke Frost, the girl next door who knows him like few know him, but I didn't know enough to save my heart.

He's the reason why I left Sweetwater behind.

But now, fate proves she loves a wicked twist and sends me back to Sweetwater to pull together a Christmas festival - and I run smack into the man again, quite literally. His body is pressed to mine, his hands on my arms, and I'm melting like chocolate in the sizzling Texas sunshine. And I run.

I know it’s not exactly respectable, but it works, just not for long. No matter how much I try to get tangled up in Christmas, I end up tangled up in Roarke instead - and the man has me feeling the heat of our attraction and the warmth of our past friendship. He feels like Mr. Right, but history says he’s Mr. Wrong.

But if he wants a second chance, Roarke Frost is going to have to work for it. He’ll need to prove to me that this holiday is a season of new beginnings, the kind that last forever.

It was still a good book just not to the level of the first one. I found the storyline to be predictable but the characters were likable so it was a good few hours of luke warm romance.

Not as good as the first book

I really enjoyed this story but I wish that there had been more of Joe Arden doing Roarke’s POV.

Great story

I so looked forward to Roarke’s story,
but was so put off by the narration of Virginia Rose and Joe Arden’s voices, I struggled to continue listening - but I did finish the book for the sweet HEA.

I loved the true love and romance between Roarke & Hannah, & especially loved all the characters from the first book reappearing. The tale was a bit convoluted, but I think with good narrators, this book would have excelled. Sorry, but there is nothing appealing or sexy to me in the deliveries of Rose or Arden.

Wrong Narrators!

Overall opinion: 3.5

The first 40% of the book is a highly repetitive, in her head experience and 4 year old temper tantrums. I would have estimated the h's mental age at 13 based on how she acted in the first half of the book. I am glad that I finished although the 13 year old resurfaced towards the very end of the book.

First 40% and 5 of the last 8% = 1.5 stars.
41% - 92% a d last 3% = 4.5 stars

If you can make it to the 2nd half, all is good!

I love the story line of this book! I think Hanna has too much of an inner monologue. Also the narrators did a great job. Joe Arden though, it seemed like he was either out of breath a lot or just had a very breathy voice, and also like he was trying to rush through the story rather than putting more emotion and character into the words. Just my opinion, either way they both did a nice job and I would definitely recommend this story.
