Fate will bring them together, but will it tear them apart?

Harlow-Rose Robinson has never had to struggle. Raised by wealthy, supportive parents, she had an Ivy League education and now owns a successful winery. The one thing she lacks is “the one.” She thought she met him two years ago, but their lives were on different paths that couldn’t cross. When her family’s business burns to the ground, she comes face to face with the man she never forgot.

Arson Investigator Santos Estrada has always had to struggle. Living paycheck to paycheck, his house was recently foreclosed, and he’s on the verge of filing for bankruptcy. He doesn’t have time for romance, yet he can’t forget the woman who captured his heart two years ago. When he’s assigned to investigate a brewery fire, he’s not prepared to encounter the woman who should have been his.

As Santos investigates, he and Harlow-Rose grow closer, rekindling their romance. But when evidence mounts, pointing to Harlow’s father as the arsonist, their relationship is put to the test. Will fate protect the love growing between Harlow-Rose and Santos, or will their hopes and dreams go up in flames?

Kimbell Texas Sweet Romances are standalone novels that celebrate diverse characters, explore unforgettable stories, and are guaranteed to give you a satisfying happily-ever-after.

I could not enjoy the book. The portrayal and performance of the hero are super horrible. Each word and expression (and I mean every single one) conveyed anger and aggression. Seriously, even the expressions/emotions of joy, laughter, sadness, regret, responses/communication, disappointment, and jovial banters were performed in the same tone and impression of a militant on the edge. I attempted to increase the speed/pace of the performance to 1.5, but it did not help at all. I tried to enjoy the book with no luck.

Horrible Hero Narration

Male voice overs were not good at all. Used the same tone, sounded angry in all the scripts. Hard to remain interested in the book because of it.

Voice over/Narrative Not good

The narration was so terrible that I actually refused to listen for 2 weeks. I eventually started back up and begrudgingly moved through the book. It was the storyline that made me keep listening. Good book. Terrible narrator.

it was a struggle
