For Kathi Lipp and her husband, Roger, buying a house in one of the most remote parts of Northern California was never part of the plan; many of life’s biggest, most rewarding adventures rarely are. Kathi shares the hard-won wisdom she’s gained on her homestead journey to help you accomplish more at home, gain fresh perspective, and give yourself grace in the process.

Here’s a handful of the lessons Kathi shares: Prepare before the need arises; Everything is always in process, including us; Your best household solution is time and patience; You don’t have to do everything the hard way; Be open to new and better ways of doing things; A lot of small changes make a huge difference.

Highly practical, humorous, and inspirational, The Accidental Homesteader will encourage you to live with more peace, joy, and contentment.

I searched for a homesteading comedy book and that’s what I was hopping for…it’s a pretty good tourist version with a lot of normal farm things…it’s wild to me how many normal country things have become ‘homesteading’

Am I currently a homesteader, or do I plan to become one? No. Am I in need of chicken husbandry tips? Also no. But I’ve read other books by Kathi Lipp & heard her speak, so I knew this would be a good listen. And as she herself points out, the book isn’t just for people planning a homesteading life. It’s for anyone who finds it intriguing, and even those contemplating a completely different type of life change. It was an engaging listen, full of anecdotes, tips, and some giggles. Lipp is insightful & has a way with words.

Engaging introduction to the homesteading life

Good tips throughout. Good book if you're looking for a homemaker perspective. A great deal of it is focused on food and decor. Wasn't really the focus I was looking for, but some might.

This is just a story of someone who had plenty of money and decided to buy a bunch of acreage and a house in the mountains.
A story worthy of telling your friends as you’re showing them around your “Homestead”not really book worthy

Not a homesteading how to
