Camden Collins: Life was going well for me. I was on the right track: captain of the soccer team, grades were passing, and I had the respect of my team. Girls threw themselves at me. Then I saw her . . .

Something about her drew me in. In her eyes, I could see the fight she had within herself . . . and I wanted to be there for her. Nothing else seemed to matter but the dark-haired, beautiful girl I couldn't stay away from.

Blaire Wentworth: I wasn't the same girl I was four years ago. Now I was just existing, not living. I went through the motions of my everyday routine, staying quiet and keeping to myself. Trusting and letting people in was a constant struggle. Until he showed up . . .

I'd never seen someone like him before. Not once had I described a guy as beautiful, but that's what he was. He struck something in me, and I didn't know how to handle that. I was chasing nightmares no one knew about. Ones I kept to myself for a reason. Could I let this new person into my life that I had kept closed off from many for far too long? What if I let my guard down and he ended up destroying me? And that became my greatest fear . . .

Contains mature themes.

This story was wonderfully written. The fact that it shows what rape from the MMC and the FMC point of view are amazing. It’s rare that you hear of men being raped. This shows strength and courage. I loved this.

pros:
This was a good story. The talk about consent and awareness of male and female sexual assault was good and important. I really liked Camden. he was very sweet, understanding and a very good man. Blair deserved a man like him, every woman does. their story was very sweet and feel good, dispite what happens to them at Halloween. Bradley Ford was awesome. he did such a great job and I really enjoyed his chapters.

cons:
the writing left some to be desired. this sounded more like a high school writing assignment then an established romance author. there was a lot of repetition and dragging chapters. I did have to skip some of it due to it taking to long and I was still able to follow along no problem. Sophie Daniels left a lot to be desired. at first I couldn't tell if I was struggling due to the writing or the narrator and I think it was a bit of both during her chapters. she needed more emotion and variation. her voice was boring and I struggled when it was her turn.
