"All I lived for was revenge. Until her."
Miranda: I'm on a strange planet surrounded by blue aliens and women who clearly have Stockholm syndrome. I'm not content to pump out alien babies and have dinner cooking for my guy after he returns from a long day of hunting and gathering. Independence is great until my solitary exploration leads me right into the hands of a savage, horned alien who barely speaks but has no intention of letting me go. The worst part? His survival skills are actually kind of turning me on.
Drak: After I'm exiled, the only thing on my mind is revenge. Other than that, I'm merely existing as a beast and a shadow of the warrior I once was. Until I see a human female struggling for her life. I save her, but then I find I can't let her go. For the first time, I'm not thinking of revenge, I'm focused on providing for her, feeding her, and keeping her safe. But the one responsible for exiling me isn't done with his betrayal. This time, I'm fighting harder to reclaim my place...and my female.
Contains mature themes.

Great plot.

I liked how they got to know each other before reuniting with the group. I thought their physical connection felt more realistic (I know how realistic can an alien and human relationship be haha) but they let it bloom/was more slow burn than the others. I liked they got their locks right away so Miranda would know what that meant, it was a good set-up all around. I also liked the action side of the story/plot with Miranda's eyesight (having worn glasses for over 30 years I felt her pain so much!) and getting to learn how to handle things without her perfect vision, how they learned from each other, the baddies making their appearances and the battles between them.
I liked learning what happened to Drak even if it was heartbreaking. It was good to get all the info, seeing his redemption and being accepted into the clan again. I smiled seeing him heal and become who he used to be instead of the feral alien he was forced to become. I loved the way Miranda and Dark were strong for each other, well-matched, strong but also vulnerable. Love love love! The narration was great too. I appreciated how well the narrators embraced these personalities, they jumped right off the page, well off the earbud I guess haha. I didnt want this story to end, I liked the almost Tarzan-esque feel it had. I betrayal they both experienced by the same alien was very poignant, I felt the pain and anger easily.
Already finished the next book, took a break once I had to read the bonus story that's in between some of these books! I am looking at getting more from this author on the current Audible sale because of how much I like this series already <3
Favorite of the bunch!
