At some point, you're going to realize that the author is giving you the same story with the old "switch and bait" cliffhanger ending. The two lead characters - Avery, mostly - continues to make irrational, child-like decisions that would get me arrested. She's not cute or endearing or complicated. She's a lifeless pompous brat who causes sporadic emotional tsunamis at each turn. Not in a nail-biting way. More like in a "this author is tossing in random variables so we'll keep paying that $5 price tag" way. Don't do it. Pass it up. Or stop after maybe volume 3. It's all on repeat after that. Or, hell, write your own additions. I'm betting yours will be an improvement.

(Low key, you can just listen to the two minute audio samples to get the gist of plot development s.)
