When a mysterious entity grants a man who died a chance to be a hero in another life in a fantasy world, he cannot believe his luck. The one condition: he must fight the demon king if he shows up during his new iteration.

He accepts and…Wakes in the body of a young female wolf beastkin named Lucia haunted by the memory of orcs ravaging her town. Not the rebirth he was hoping for.

He soon learns that beastkin are not looked upon kindly in these parts and, because Lucia is an orphaned beastkin, she is drafted into the military. But this new body has its perks as well as its drawbacks. She possesses a hot temper, an incredibly youthful and strong body, and claws. However, the longer he is in this body, the willpower of his former life begins to yield to Lucia’s overwhelming primal instincts.

With the help and magic of an enigmatic female elf at an orphanage, Lucia may have a chance at controlling her violent nature as she contends with this harsh, new alien world. Among the threats: murderous orcish raiders, fearsome beasts, and summoned demons. And quite possibly, the demon king himself.

No small feat for a young beastkin, but it sure beats being dead.

This Royal Road alumnus is a unique reincarnation fantasy adventure featuring plenty of action, twists, and memorable characters that takes place during the hero’s rebirthed childhood rather than glossing over it like most books in the genre. This exciting isekai story with its female lead will transport you to a lush new world filled with fantastical races, unforeseen danger, and powerful magic you won’t soon forget.

Love the audio versions of this series. Hope the last two books get added as well, though I know they’re gonna be sad.

Great book series. Read them all some time ago.

the concept is novel and the story flows rather well. The characters feel mostly realistic and the inner monologue is rich and funny.
There are some minor areas that could have been better. some parts, like fin's death or being a girl is on the short / underdeveloped side. Violent scenes are described in few but rather viseral words, something that seems a bit strange.
A funny thing is that I came by this book via AI, and that's kinda cool.

Interesting concept

Hope to see the rest on Audible. Narration was well done and the overall story leaves me wanting more.

Overall story was great! Proformance was fantastic. kept me coming back to it to listen while I work. I know it's set in a fantasy world and I know Lucia is 4-5 just, my word the amount of crap Lucia had to go through haha. I wanted to punch the lizard, that whole scene had my blood boiling. it's more so just a me thing I have too much empathy for characters especially with children, so if you don't mind that stuff it's a highly recommend listen!

A little too much child abuse for my taste...however still a fantastic story!

A very interesting fantasy book that keeps you on the edge of your seat and locks you in, in an addicting way, wanting to know more of the story and of the New World. the main character finds herself in! I can’t wait for the second!

Gripping and enthralling
