Narrator Glenn Hascall is great with humor, and there is indeed humor in this Kurt Vonnegut short story. Where he takes us is to 2158 A.D, where Old Gramps Ford and his sizeable family are all cooped together in their ramshackle Alden Village home, with Gramps regularly cutting members of the family who misbehave out of his last will and testament. The reason the family is so sizable is an anti-aging drug was discovered and widely distributed when Gramps was 75 years old, and it is now 102 years later, and the family is still breeding, with nobody dying off. Eventually things become quite crowded. A solution however is to send Gramps on a big trip up yonder by making his anti-aging medicine disappear. Good luck with that!
