Bedfordshire, England, 1820: Ruined by the sins of her father, Juliet Finch is cast into a life of self-reliance. Survival is a harsh taskmaster, but she is a quick learner and excels at tracking and snaring wild game to feed herself. Juliet embraces her new identity until the day Henry Russell catches her poaching on his land—a crime punishable by death. Henry, however, has other offenses on his mind: namely, the troublesome stalker who's making a misery of his sister's life. To try to put a stop to her torment, Henry charges Juliet with tracking the elusive villain so he can be brought to justice. Using her skills, Juliet hunts down the rogue. . .but may just become the prey herself.

Another excellent book by Michelle Griep! There is a touch of humor and banter, but primarily this is a mystery filled with suspense. The plot is unique and the story well crafted.

Like the other Griep books I’ve read, there is a strong Christian message and the characters each have their own spiritual journey learning to trust and surrender to God. The writing is both flowing and gripping, and the pace swift.

I admit, I became a tad frustrated at the suspicion and lack of trust the characters showed through the 60-70% stretch (a pet peeve of mine in romance novels where characters are supposed to “love” each other), but otherwise I found the book near perfect, so will let it go.

Overall a most excellent book and highly recommended.

Content:
There is no foul language or sex. There is some violence, but it isn’t excessive. The romance is limited to lightly descriptive kisses. This is a Christian book with a strong message of faith, surrender, and God.

Trigger warning - a female character is stalked and threatened

I loved this book. I already want to read it again to soak in all the nuggets I’m sure I missed the first time. This is a powerful story of learning to trust God, even in the hardest times.

Wonderful story!

I enjoyed Juliet’s character and spunk and Henry’s attraction and softened heart towards such an unconventional woman.

Well written enjoyable characters and story!
