“A Funny and Breathtakingly Romantic” Story??

Not by a long shot I’m afraid.
The description and the actual story are miles apart. The story was okay and it’s not about the ending that bothered me. I was more displeased by the lack of character development. Just when you thought the author was going to go deeper into other characters, she opted to have the MC get more annoyingly introspective. Don’t be afraid of dialogue.
I wanted to like this book because of the premise, but it just didn’t meet the expectation. My sense is the editor hacked the draft to bits and this is what we got.

The publishers summary states “A funny and breathtakingly romantic story about falling in love when you least expect it,”

This implies a happily ever after… that’s not what it was. Not even close.

Loved the storyline. Original. Funny. Quirky. Definitely a 5 star listen on audible. Don’t miss out.

It's okay

There was a whole lot of self doubt and needing validation from others IMO. This isn't a happily ever after type of ending book more than a find thyself type ending. I listened to the book but zoned out a good amount but was still able to get the gist of the story. Don't think I'd be listening to any other books by this author as the summary intrigued me more than that actual book did. Not a bad book just an okay one.
