How do you fight the darkness that grows within?

Beware the cost of death.

After surviving the call to Duskmorrow Swamp, Denton Wade finds himself burdened with the weight of a dark mark and a broken blade. Sent to the Frostwind Mountains by his Battle Mage mentor, there is but one hope: An Elixir of Souls that can only be crafted after successfully harvesting 20 rare thistles hidden amongst the frigid mountain slopes.

In an afterlife world of quests and magic, Denton must make a difficult choice. Faced with two competing quest lines and a broken blade with a growing lust for battle, he discovers the right answer isn't always the obvious one. Will he answer the call to purge the darkness now plaguing the Frostwind Mountains, or will he fulfill his promise to a dying man?

The Broken Blade is the second book in the series: A Battle Mage Reborn, and is a GameLit fantasy adventure with soft LitRPG elements set in the digital world of EndWorld Everlasting.

This is the second book in the series, and you can tell the author is growing and the story is maturing. I quite liked this book and felt a deeper sense of immersion. The pace was good for the most part, and I felt the struggles and battles felt realistic on the whole.

This is a Great novel with a good magic system and interesting world. There are friendly characters and a story that is focused on character progression and team work. It is a delightful follow-up to book 1. Definitely worth the read/listen!

The story picks right up from where Book 1 left off. Strange things are afoot again in EndWorld Everlasting and are getting worse. And when bad things happen, everyone looks to the hero to go fix it. Denton doesn't seem to have a choice, since he is the here. Well, that and the fact that the bad things are drawn to him anyway. So, when you're a battle mage and bad things come to you, you smite them with powerful magic and stuff, of course. Unless they smite you of course. So, the team reassembles and faces down the threat with the help and hindrance of new acquaintances. As they progress, we learn that there is much more going on other than simple adventures.
The book is appropriate for all ages. My teenage son and I both loved the book and can't wait to read more. You will enjoy the book as well. You will really love the Robert character. At least I did. PIKE!
