Lyle and Heidi Troyer have taken in a brother and sister, who were orphaned when their parents were killed in a car accident. Hoping to help the children adapt and make friends, Heidi decides to hold a series of cooking classes for kids. But kids are always accompanied by an adult - and that is where the trouble arises.

Loved this book. Great story n teaching. I loved how so many lives were changed.

Another good book

While I have enjoyed this book (and the series) tremendously, I found the narration a struggle to be consistent between the characters’ voices. Miranda specifically was went back and forth. Also, the deep southern portrayal of Velma was a little over the top. I am from Kentucky and while I know that we certainly have a southern “twang”, the voice portrayed was representative of much deeper in the south.
