The story of an old woman's need for forgiveness, a young man's drive to succeed, and the history that links them both will keep listeners enthralled from beginning to end.

A Pandora's box opens when reporter Andy Carmichael, too light skinned for acceptance by blacks and too dark skinned for acceptance by whites, is sent to Georgia to interview Miss Penbrook, an icon of Southern literature. From her deathbed, the mysterious Miss Penbrook gives Andy journals that reveal a surprising twist - her story and his own meld into one.

This was a beautifully woven story. Perfectly imperfect. I couldn't put down this full circle experience. I truly enjoyed the journey.

This is a must read. It has one not wanting to put the book down. Andy Carmichael is the main character, and when you think you figured things out , another twist and a drawing of one into the story.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

No, it was tiresome.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Mirron Willis?

I enjoyed the narration of Yellow Crocus much more..

Any additional comments?

Couldn't last 2 chapters into it..

Narration was too monotone..
