After moving in she becomes fast friends with an alligator shifter and a fairy who works as a mechanic. The Vampire club meets upstairs above her book store. Little do they know that the ghost of a French vampire occupies the same space. And she's not found of the sounds emitting from their bodies.

The best thing about this series of books is keeping the same characters and personalities. It helps with the flow of the stories. Characters are nice, but they could be developed more.

The worst thing about the series is Vitual Voice. There was no inflection in the story and might well be why I felt like the characters were not developed. The droning of the story put me to sleep several times & I had to find the last thing I remembered prior to falling asleep. Obviously the stories were compelling enough I wanted to complete the series.

I liked the storyline & the mysteries. I hard a hard time listening to the “virtual voice “. Especially when it pronounced words incorrectly! I usually won’t listen to a story with a computer talking.

Fun stories

I liked the story, but if you are going to have a computer do tbe reading, teach it how to pronounce words properly. To wit:
Athame - “a’-tha-mae”
Hecate - “heh’-kah-teh”
Its jarring to the ear and detrimental to enjoyment of the tale when words are mispronounced.

Good story

The story itself was pretty good. However it was significantly diminished by their use of AI narration. It just can’t pick up on nuances and slang used throughout this book

AI narration is AWFUL!!!

I got this series because of the story line - it was different - a group of paranormal entities had an alliance but it was threatened. - While I like the story I had a few strong disappointments:
1. the virtual voice was a HUGE disappointment for me. It lacked the lilt for expression that I enjoy with a regular narrator. Any sarcasm or double entendre were delivered flat and I almost missed it, and
2. I found the story often difficult to follow because the virtual voice didn't change the tone from one character to the next making it difficult to know who was speaking between characters. (ie 2 different females) Sometimes I had to rewind to listen again so I didn't miss a clue/or a conversation.
