This story line is nice. I liked the characters, and the story, while somewhat predictable was very enjoyable. The virtual narrator was pathetic. The intonation was off, words were pronounced incorrectly, sentences that would have typically had some depth, emotion or just spoken either with hesitation, enthusiasm, sadness, whatever appropriate emotion all sounded exactly the same. This book is worth reading but not listening to. I know it's part of a series so if the rest of the books are using a virtual narrator I will read them instead.

Now we're stuck listening to virtual narrators?

I didn’t know that that the voice was AI generated until after I finished the story. But I did notice throughout the story that the voice was somehow wrong. There was a lack of animation. And often very poor inflection. I will check to see if books are AI narrated from now on and skip those

Somewhat immature

Found the story to be well written. Found the narration to take away from the story.

Well written tale of loss and new found love.
