Can you survive the cold?

After the initial series of summer blizzards, the snowfall has decreased, but the temperatures continue to drop, the icy wind still blows, and with each passing day, the darkness lasts longer and longer.

It is in the darkness the monsters thrive.

Confined to the lake house and having no communication with the outside world, Grady and the others live every day in fear, questioning what the future holds. Will the snow melt? Will the sun ever rise? Can the wraiths be defeated?

But as the days turn to weeks, no answers come. Soon, the survivors' supplies lessen, and whether they're ready to or not, they must venture out into the snowy wasteland.

They must fight.

That is, if they want to continue to survive.

Just like with book 1, it ends abruptly! There’s more monsters, and we meet another character or two, but the ending happens suddenly like all three books in this series were one, but the author broke it into thirds (unnecessarily IMO).

Too short!

Still interesting. I gave 4 stars because i haven’t heard a story like this one before, and it kept me on my toes. Always guessing and stressing for the characters.

This is a good second book in this series. You continue to learn more about the characters we've already met and introduce a new one. We also learn more about the waifs and what they are capable of, what they might be. There are some exciting close calls as well as a few sad scenes. Definitely started the next book immediately.

Good evolving story

the cold keeps sipping in, but somehow it feels amazing. maybe because the narrator is so good at reading this scary realistic story.

Our story continues! Grady & Elenore get closer, They find a puppy that brings Mikie out of his depression and Grady decides to go into town to raid the grocery store. Luckily El & Stone come looking for him. In this book the wraiths get bolder and our heros are running out of supplies. They need to move on and have to devise a plan. It's still snowing and the sun still only comes out for a few minutes each day! The wraiths take on the forms of giant terrifying animals/monsters in this one. I'm eagerly awaiting book 3. If you love post apocalyptic books with a touch of supernatural / horror / monsters don't hesitate to get this one. You'll love it!

more snow, more wraiths & dwindling supplies!
