Fast, engaging start to the series

The princess wants freedom, but she ends up tangling with dragons under mind control, a missing dragon queen, and the interest of a powerful First.

The mix of family drama, changing identities, and rising danger kept me interested. I liked how she counts on her friends and family while trying to balance both halves of her life. The plot moves quickly and the world building was well done. CC Kline’s narration fits the tone well and makes the adventure even better.

Enjoyable Story

Story starts about a young child (princess) being cruelly physically abused by one of her much older brother, she learned to hide how powerful her magic is and, after years of this the other brother finds out and recuse her.
years later as a full adult she and overly protected she is extremely nieve, but wanting her freedom to actually learn. She decides to become a detective, now the real (fun) begins.
Narrator does a ice job, my only complaint is the voice at times in the background.

A well narrated beginning to a new fantasy series, rich in mage and shifter type characters with minor romance themes.

Intriguing story

I was certain this wasn't for me. I was fooled. I got pulled down the rabbit hole and stayed there to resurface at the end. I enjoyed watching/listening as the young princess/queen
came into her own and became who she was meant to be. This was a very fanciful, entertaining, story with character that kept me invested. I voluntarily listened a copy of this and am giving an honest opinion.
