I don’t need a mate to complicate my life.

Just because I recognize that Brianna is my fated mate doesn’t mean I have to accept it.
If she rejects me, I’ll be free. Easy enough.

But every second we’re apart feels like my soul is being shredded. Literally.
When the bond goes away, I’ll never have another shot at a mate.
I thought I didn’t want one.
But Brianna is like no woman I’ve ever known.
She’s strong, loving, and an amazing single mom.
Far too good for the playboy dragon I’ve been all my life.
I need to stay away but she needs protection from her ex, and I can’t stand to see her and her daughter in danger.

It pains me to write this because I have enjoyed many of Roxy’s other shifter books but this one was soooo boring. I can’t quite put my finger on it. It has all the things I usually enjoy but something is just…off. It was just boring.

Kind of boring

Most of the time, I suggest that single narration be changed to dual so you have distinct male and female voices. This is one of those rare times when I say I would rather just cut the male narrator out completely. He sounded like some old guy from the 1800s with his weird pronunciation and cadence. The female did a phenomenal job compared to him. She was much more believable and her manly voice was different enough to know when she was reading for he male characters without a doubt.

Awful male narration
