'Next to impossible to put down . . . exciting, mysterious, and totally satisfying.'
STEPHEN KING

The islands of Prospera lie in a vast ocean: in splendid isolation from the rest of humanity, or whatever remains of it. . .

Surrounded by sun, and sea, and stars, their world is perfect. But every paradise comes at a price.

When the truth behind theirs is revealed, it will end a way of life, and start a revolution that will change the course of humanity itself.

And it will all begin with one person hearing these simple words:

"The world is not the world..."

Step into a story of madness, sublime in its message of the have and the have nots, A message of warning, hope and contentment. Cronin again delivers in this convoluted story. Brilliant in the words within the story. I enjoyed this; effort is needed to keep track of the dreams. If you like a book that makes you think. This is it.

There are few things more boring than listening to someone else’s dreams, unfortunately this book has a lot of that. It also contains lot of unnecessarily wordy, though ultimately unrewarding sections of prose which do nothing to take the story forward. The characters are all one dimensional and some of the scenes were downright B movie laughable.

The female narrator was very good, however male narrator appeared to rely on volume to indicate drama, which got hard on the ears after a while.

I found it all really tiring and not one of my favourites. Not up to the standards of The Passage by any means.

Overly wordy and unrewarding
