In America's new war, the first guns in the fight are special operations forces, including the Navy SEALs, specially trained warriors who operate with precision, swiftness, and lethal force. In the constantly shifting war on terror, SEAL units - small in number, flexible, stealthy, and efficient - are more vital than ever to America's security as they take the battle to an elusive enemy around the globe. But how are Navy SEALs made?

Dick Couch, author of the acclaimed Warrior Elite, follows SEALs on the ground and in the water as they undergo SEAL Tactical Training, in which they master such combat skills as precision shooting, demolitions, secure communications, parachuting, diving, and first aid. From there, the men enter operational platoons, where they subordinate their individual abilities to the mission of the group and train for special operations in specific geographic environments.

Never before has a civilian writer been granted such close access to the training of America's most elite military forces. The Finishing School is essential listening for anyone who wants to know what goes into the making of America's best warriors.

Great information and interesting take of an old deal watching new seals train and develop. Definitely a must in the complete library and knowledge of the top military units and their regimen. Couch describes the mindsets of deals and top military superbly.

Yes absolutly, considering I already have.

It was great

Any additional comments?

The book was very good overall. I really enjoyed learning about many of the different schools that seals can attend.
I did feel that the book could have been a bit shorter at times but I understand the Authors desire to give the information to the reader.

great book but seemed long at points

Thank you for using your security clearance to give us a behind the scenes look at what happens. Everybody talks about BUDS but next to nobody knows what occurs after. I believe that this book helps paint a picture for anybody that wants to join the brotherhood a very clear and vibrant picture of what will be asked of you long after you make it through the infamous hell weak. To the rest of us that don't intend to sign up to pursue the trident it allows us to humble ourselves knowing what remarkable men are willing to do to join a special group of few that's willing to "cross the Rubicon." We are eternally grateful to those individuals that are willing to grapple with evil in the pits of Tartarus while we sleep comfortably in our beds at night oblivious.

humbling
