One conversation is all it takes to break a world wide open. Seventeen-year-old Macy Lyons has been through something no one should ever have to experience. And she's dealt with it entirely alone. On the outside, she's got it pretty good. Her family's well off, she's dating the cute boy next door, she has plenty of friends, and although she long ago wrote her mother off as a superficial gym rat, she's thankful to have allies in her loving, laid-back dad and her younger brother.

But a conversation with a boy at a party one night shakes Macy out of the carefully maintained complacency that has defined her life so far. The boy is Sebastian Ruiz, a recovering addict who recognizes that Macy is hardened by dark secrets. And as Macy falls for Sebastian, she realizes that while revealing her secret could ruin her seemingly perfect family, keeping silent might just destroy her.

The Fix follows two good-hearted teenagers coming to terms with the cards they were dealt. It's also about the fixes we rely on to cope with our most shameful secrets and the hope and fear that comes with meeting someone who challenges us to come clean.

I like the theme of the book with the teenage angst and the sexual abuse by a family member. This is an issue that gets buried in many families.

This book felt familiar, like Iheard it before

it was a decent story, I didn't mind the story at all actually. But it seemed like there was a whole lot of word vomit just to make it longer. And when I finally did get to the end I was a tad bit disappointed.

Good book, however it seemed to drag on and on.

Natasha put into words my thoughts and feelings that for 42 years I’ve not been able to express to many people. It was as if she was in my head. God bless all children who’ve lived through this experience. Thank you Natasha

Overall this was a good book with a lot of lessons that I think would be valuable for anybody at any age. However there is no disclaimer in the synopsis of this book that discusses the included sexual abuse, specifically molestation. I think it’s worth mentioning before somebody reads this book and it’s not something they can move past without holding on to the words heard.

This was a sensitive and true-feeling accounting of the characters’ experiences. Very well written. I was touched by how well I could relate to Macy and all of her friends and family.

Insightful telling
