When law enforcement, the courts, and the prison system fail, there is a fourth and final option. #1 New York Times bestselling author Jack Carr launches a new thriller series.

Disillusioned by the government and institutions he dedicated his life to serving, former Navy SEAL and CIA ground branch operative Chris Walker is about to end his life when he receives a call that saves it. The wife of a teammate he lost in Afghanistan has now lost her son to the opioid crisis and needs Walker’s help. Thrust into a conspiracy that goes deeper than he ever imagined, Walker must go up against the system and the very Constitution he once swore an oath to support and defend in order to find justice for his friend’s widow.

With ambitious FBI agent Jarrett Stanton on his tail, Walker—accompanied by his loyal Belgian Malinois and using his off-the-grid VW pop-up camper filled with a hidden cache of weapons—takes the law into his own hands, exposing corruption and issuing a long-forgotten brand of lethal outlaw justice.

In the tradition of the great “stranger comes to town” Westerns of the past comes a modern interpretation of the mysterious vigilante gunslinger legend from “the hottest author on the thriller scene today” (The Real Book Spy). Get ready for a new kind of hero. Justice is coming.

Another great story. I finished it in two days.
It was different than the Terminal List series but somehow the same, very well written and action packed.

Jack Carr does it again!

I fell into listening mode in the late afternoon and finally paused at 430 am. I finished the next day wanting more. Yes it is that good.
The story is a solid 5 and the narrator was an excellent choice.

Excellent stand alone or series opener

The Fourth Option was an overall very impactful story. The introduction of Chris Walker was done extremely well and immediately pulled me in. Jack Carr proves time and time again that he still has the ability to deliver a gripping story and create characters you want to keep following.

After reading The Handler and Dead Drop to prepare myself for a co-written book with M.P. Woodward, I thoroughly enjoyed those novels as well. You can definitely notice differences in language and writing style between the two authors at times and pick up on areas where each voice comes through, but it never took me out of the experience.

Overall, this was a great story with a fresh set of characters who all had their own agendas and motivations, which kept things interesting from start to finish. My only wish would be for more of that classic Jack Carr style when introducing the antagonist, the kind of introduction that really makes the villain feel larger than life right from the start. Still, a very enjoyable listen and absolutely worth it.

Another excellent novel. Incredible storyline and memorable characters. Glad to hear he’s writing another James Reece novel also. Great job Jack!

The Fourth Option is a vigilante/revenge yarn about Walker, a former (you guessed it) SEAL who delays eating his gun to go sort out who murdered his SEAL brother’s son. When he uncovers a vast conspiracy of untouchable plutocrats and corrupt cops, he and his dog wage a campaign of orgiastic violence that would make Tarantino demure, teaching us the most valuable lesson of all—you don’t mess with a naked man with an A5. Highly, highly recommended.
