NATIONAL BESTSELLER • The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series continues: Lisbeth Salander must face the most important battle of her life, and will finally put her past to rest in this thriller that will “leave Salander’s legion of followers clamoring for more” (The Wall Street Journal). • Also known as the Millennium series

Mikael Blomkvist is trying to reach Lisbeth Salander—the fierce, unstoppable girl with the dragon tattoo. He needs her help unraveling the identity of a man who died with Blomkvist's phone number in his pocket—a man who does not exist in any official records and whose garbled last words hinted at knowledge that would be dangerous to important people. But Lisbeth has disappeared. She's sold her apartment in Stockholm. She's gone dark. She's told no one where she is. And no one is aware that at long last she's got her primal enemy, her twin sister, Camilla, squarely in her sights.

Critic reviews

“A murder mystery inside an espionage conspiracy wrapped in an action thriller—a unique concoction that should leave Salander’s legion of followers clamoring for more.” —The Wall Street Journal

"A quest for revenge and atonement that plumbs the depths of Russian troll factories and scales the heights of Mount Everest." —TIME

"Salander and Blomkvist are just as compelling as ever." —The New York Times

"If this turns out to be, as Lagercrantz has suggested, the final installment in the series, it's going out on a resounding tonic chord ... Salander is what she’s always been: a force to be reckoned with, and one of the most remarkable series leads in the history of crime fiction." —Booklist, starred review

"Not only do the matter-of-fact style and intricate plotting and sexy, chilling atmosphere feel very true to the original novels, but Lagercrantz transcends the source material." —Esquire

"If Lagercrantz strays into Smilla's Sense of Snow levels of unlikelihood in weaving all these threads, he writes economically, and though he works ground he's covered in his two earlier contributions to the series, disbelief suitably suspended, it all makes for good bloody fun. Formulaic, but it's a formula that still works, as Salander and assorted bad guys spread righteous mayhem wherever they go." —Kirkus Reviews

“[An] exciting third addition to Stieg Larsson’s Millennium series ... A tantalizing ending hints at important changes for Blomkvist and Lisbeth ahead. Series fans will be pleased with the thoughtful way Lagercrantz develops the character of their beloved action heroine in this worthy outing.” Publishers Weekly

"Rest easy, Lisbeth Salander fans—our punk hacker heroine is in good hands." —USA Today

I'm a huge fan of this series and was very disappointed at the abrupt ending to this book, especially since it will be the last book in the series written by David Lagercrantz. It felt as if he became bored and wanted to finish as quickly as possible. The protagonists acted out of character and there was not much in the way of closure. I still enjoyed the story and hold out hope another writer will pick up the series in the future.

Rushed Ending

His character voices feel rlly stereotypical and flat, and his normal reading voice is pretty dull and makes it too easy to zone out.

Can’t stand narrator

Amazing job of handling all the characters voices by Simon Vance. I will be looking for more of his narrations. This book was twisted in plots but it all came together nicely in the end. Not my favorite in the series, however, it leaves open a new plot for the future.

Fantastic Narration

Not as much excitement as the books before. I felt the ending was kind of flat. Still, worth the listen. Narrator was perfect for this book. (Please don't start with this book. Start at the beginning to build a rapport with the characters.)

Not my favorite of the series...
