Weird that Georgia is Australian but the narrator uses an American accent

Weird that Georgia is Australian but the narrator uses an American accent for everything. Why did they do that? I like the story, but the accent makes it feel inauthentic.

Keep your political views out of your books .

The story was fun and engaging… then the author starts bashing various politicians. Those remarks detracted from the story. It really seemed like the remarks were made to try to sway publishers …
