My Heart Hurts!

*Spoilers in this review* This title is definitely not a romance -as advertised- and I wasn't expecting it, but what I got was the antithesis of romance altogether. That being said, I found myself enrapt from the beginning, Brandon Francis has an amazing voice, I could listen to him read an almanac 😍. I wish I could say I agree with Victoria's budding discovery, but all I feel is a sense of sadness for all those future potentially lonely, vulnerable and unfortunately - innocent - vampires out there who have the misfortune of coming across her path. I think I would feel better if Victoria was to operate as the "Dexter" of the vampire world; only taking out the worst of the worst - but that is not the impression I'm left with so my heart hurts! I feel so sorry for Grayson, that he survived his existence with his horrible maker for 200+ years only to find a glimpse of happiness before having it snuffed out forever by Victoria. I have to admit that as far as storytelling goes, bravo Jolene Gettler for a unique and thought-provoking book, no offense, but I think I need to watch Twilight again!

Ooh the twist!!

I really enjoyed this story! The narrator did a great job bringing this story to life. Excellent characters and immersive descriptions allow you to sink right in. This thriller has a spicy romantic subplot to heat your blood but the twists will chill you to the bone! I will definitely be looking for more from this author.

Omg the plot twist!

First. Brandon does a stunning job narrating this book! Second, Jolene did an amazing job weaving trauma, humor, challenges, and one hell of a plot twist! This book was unlike anything I’d ever listened to in such a good and refreshing way. Highly recommend

My heart!!

Oh my goodness! This book is incredible and I listened to the whole thing in 2 days because I just needed to know what would happen and I did NOT see this ending coming… at all! The story, characters, and writing are just amazing and the narration was FANTASTIC! You could tell he was fully connected to the story the entire time and really draws you in. Loved every second of it. Even if it made me cry!

The narrator was perfect too! I will definitely be checking out their other works. 5 stars
