Since 2018, I’ve devoted myself to crafting highly realistic fiction novels. However, following my retirement from the entertainment industry and my decision to relocate from Las Vegas, Nevada, to Nashville, Tennessee, I encountered events that defied comprehension.

What began as a simple plan to close one chapter and begin another quickly unraveled into a surreal journey—one that demanded a memoir all its own.

The Great Vegas Escape chronicles the bizarre, often bewildering series of events that accompanied my move from Sin City to Music City. At times humorous, at others mysterious and downright terrifying, this story explores the emotional and logistical chaos of uprooting a life deeply rooted in a city that doesn’t let go easily.

It’s been said that the hardest part of living in Las Vegas is leaving it. Some call it the Vegas curse. Others dismiss it as folklore. My personal experience may not settle the debate—but I can no longer call it mere conjecture.

This first-hand account marks my debut in nonfiction. And while the ordeal was frustrating, infuriating, and occasionally horrifying, I hope my faithful fans will find it, at the very least… entertaining.

A page-turner (audio-speaking)! This memoir details the real-life suspense of navigating home-ownership, making major life decisions, navigating the twists and turns of the real estate business, and journeying cross- country in the most engaging, relatable, funny, and heartfelt ways. Definitely more interesting and entertaining than reality TV!

Having moved across the country, I so truly related to this! The packaging and purging themselves can leave one totally exhausted. Getting from point A to point B can be a nightmare in itself. Thankfully, my move was not as bad as the one Riano D. McFarland went through!! The written memoir of his experience will keep you captivated and totally relieved when he finally makes it back home safe and sound! Whether you read his memoir or listen to it as an audiobook, you will not be disappointed.

Oh my gosh! When this audiobook came out I knew I had to hear it. I have listened to most of Riano’s books and love them. Such interesting, exciting and captivating stories. So many different genres. With all of his stories I could not imagine how a personal journey from Las Vegas to Tennessee could possibly come close to entertaining. Riano I DO NOT know how you made it through ALL of that without just giving up! Thank you for sharing this adventure with us!

Very few could handle this journey!

Okay, I have to say—Mr. McFarland absolutely blew me away again with this one. I was completely invested from start to finish. And here’s the funny part: I’m not usually a non-fiction reader at all, so I was a little hesitant going in. But I jumped in anyway because I’ve loved every single novel I’ve listened to by this author. Every. Single. One.

Saying I wasn’t disappointed would be a huge understatement. I felt everything—the highs, the lows, the moments that nearly brought me to tears, and the ones that made me smile just as hard. I found myself reacting emotionally the whole way through The Great Vegas Escape.

And the narration by Richard Salem? So good. He had just the right mix of emotion, pacing, and energy this story needed. Honestly—well done all around!
