Twenty-five years ago HMS Terrapin was part of a crack hunter/killer group in the Battle of the Atlantic. Now she is working out her last commission in the Gulf of Thailand.

To Lieutenant-Commander Standish, the frigate seems to mark the end of his hopes of a career in the navy. Then a new captain arrives, a man driven by an old-fashioned, almost obsessive patriotism. And under his stubborn leadership, Standish and the crew discover a long-forgotten unity of purpose.

Have you listened to any of David Rintoul’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

David Rintoul is a pleasure to listen to as ever

Any additional comments?

I would have given the story 3.5 out of 5.
It’s personal preference rather than a rating of the story quality.
The story has action, intrigue and builds to a fulfilling end but with a story line of injustice.
As is discussed in the prologue as the subject of the book.
And thankfully it doesn’t not have too much love story blurb.

It's a good book

The Greatest Enemy is one of my favorite books by Douglas Reeman. You really feel a sense of pride when someone stand by their principles and this book is all about that.
