Then, if he makes it, life doesn't get easier - he gets tougher. He may get to do the toughest job around: combat infantry. And in 1966, he will almost certainly end up in Vietnam.

Frank Evans is a Navy sailor willing to do whatever is necessary to become a Marine. He's tough enough - and he has a general interested in his success. But success is measured in many ways. Frank finds out combat and the Marine Corps' definition of success change a man. Some of the changes are a matter of pride. Others - well, you learn to live with them.

True life in Vietnam

Great book to read for those students of history. The hardships that our soldered endured was bright to life. Feels like you were in the foxholes with them.

Exceptional story and superb narration. I couldn't stop listening. I constantly felt like I was there with the Gunny. Brought back a lot of memories of my Vietnam experience. .

Fabulous story, great narration and delivery. A very eye opening and inspiring story with just enough humor to ensight a few giggles.

I really enjoyed this story. I was captivated and never found myself board at all. It was hard to put it down.

great read/listen

To start, I am biased this is my uncle's novel. Besides that point, it was a very intriguing and addictive read. So in-depth you feel like your main character. Great book there Uncle Butch maybe you'll see this review.
