Think fast. Stay alive.

In the wake of a summer storm, a strange malady takes hold, slowing mental and physical response. For many exposed, it proves fatal. As scientists race to find a cure for the unexplainable, it spreads.

As the mysterious event scatters survivors, Alice wanders alone until she saves a young boy and discovers that not only does he hold the answer to the whereabouts of her family, but the key to saving humanity.

Now, as she escorts him across a ravaged country, they soon discover no one is safe from the terrifying phenomenon, and realize the worst isn’t dying from it, but surviving.

In this cinematic thriller, The Haze weaves an emotional journey through a brutal civilization with unforgettable characters. Wildly entertaining, this non-stop thrill ride with white-knuckle suspense will make you think long after finishing.

Enjoyed in a very strange way! Emotional, scary, even though not fully real. Could this be possible?

I like the premise of this story, a fresh dystopian idea, and it grabbed my attention early on. After that tho, my disappointment grew, mostly due to how the main character, Alice, is written.

Wavering from a steely and very capable character to being jarringly clueless with little situational awareness. From being able to single handedly nab bad guys to huh? What? People are doing bad things? More than once it felt as though the cluelessness was a contrived way to allow other characters to explain the story line.

By the end, I was definitely not interested in her or her quest, only listened to find out how the author would wrap up the story. No loose ends, so that's another plus I suppose.

The narrator did well, but should take care not to use overuse stereotyped tones in speech. Tough gritty guys don't always need gravelly voices, as an example. Giving the scientist sister such a different accent was weird, was that intended to portray her as a snob? Made it difficult to imagine these two grew up together.

can't wait for part 2. enjoyed the narration as well and I'm pretty picky about that. I like how it's not your usual post apocalyptic story, different threat. reminded me of the Fog but without the monsters, except the human ones.

loved it!

I liked this book because it has a different spin on it than most of its kind. The characters are life like - you like some and dislike others. I would recommend this book.

Fast paced and action packed

Like nails on a chalkboard. Should of just bought the book and read it. Nothing enjoyable about listening to a book where almost the entirety of it is a man using (attempting terribly) an feminine voice. Why they didn't just have a woman read the book is beyond me.

Men should not attempt to do a woman's voice.
