From the NUMBER ONE bestselling author of A Christmas Murder, Mary Grand

Someone is about to die… Someone is about to lie…

At the intimate house-warming party for her glorious ‘grand design’, Kathleen confides in her best friend Beth that she is terrified of one of their close friends, but daren’t reveal which one. The guests are a tight-knit group, but Kathleen is convinced one of them is dangerous.

The next day Kathleen’s body is found at the foot of a cliff and Beth must face the sickening truth that she may have been killed by one of their trusted friends. With little help from the police, Beth’s decides to seek answers.

All the friends have secrets they are desperate to hide, but only one of them is ready to kill to keep theirs safe…

The House Party is set on the Isle of Wight - insular, claustrophobic, and with nowhere to run. Mary Grand has written a heart-stopping novel of secrets, betrayal and desire, perfect for fans of Louise Candlish, Lucy Foley and The Isle of Wight Murders.

The characters were interesting and believable. I prefer a little humor to break up all the tension. Karen Cass did a great job on narration. Mary Grand did a great job on one hair raising story.

very good mystery

I love the voice, and pace and articulation of the reader. Her tone was very nice to listen to (not harsh or draby) but had a little spark which kept me interested. I love the story line as well. I quite enjoy the "who done it" feel and keeps your guessing as new details are revealed throughout the story. Had there been any more characters, I think I would've been completely lost, because there were 9 solid characters being explored. In the middle of the story, it felt somewhat repetitive, but it was tolerable because I really wanted to know what happened next! In juxtaposition, the ending felt slightly rushed. Still, a very good ending and overall, I enjoyed this and would recommend!

And enjoyable read

This story kept me on the edge of my seat. A true "whodunit" story. Good read.

Great story

I enjoyed it, kept me guessing. At first I thought it was going to be a bit dull but then as the story progressed it became more interesting and every character has a strong motive. Great read.

Good!

I enjoyed listening to this book, and it kept my interest throughout.
Was never really sure of who committed the murder, until the "revealation", as it could have been each of the "long term" friends.
Every time I focused in on one character, that suspect was removed from the list.
Narrated beautifully. Would definitely purchase more from this Author.
