Informative and educational

Tim’s incredibly well written and cited book was eye-opening! Really lets the reader know how important immigration has been in creating a great America. Definitely changed my perception on a number of immigration issues. Every politician in Washington regardless of party should read/listen to this book. Well worth the time.

Really helped me too consider other points of view

I was usually very skeptical of immigration in general however this book helped me too consider other perspectives and amend my own. Also, I love that it’s narrated by the author. Audiobooks are always better when they are.

All I can say is... well you tried.

Like the immigration policy itself, the author is finding it hard to make up his mind.

The author is a self-identifying right-wing, pro-immigration Republican. He was writing this book in the very years when the Republican Party was veering sharply toward nativism and Christian nationalism. The book itself reflects this confusion. The author finds it necessary to add clarifications upon clarifications, caveats after caveats, to maintain his precarious position caught between two polarizing tendencies in American politics, trying hard to appeal to both departing sides at the same time, and as a result finding his narrative thinned out.
