The former Chinese mandarin, Fu Manchu, was part of (and possibly master of) a secretive Oriental organization dedicated to conquering the world, supported by a host of nefarious Middle Eastern and Oriental criminal organizations. His greatest nemesis was British investigator Sir Dennis Nayland Smith.

Fu Manchu was particularly known for his jade green hypnotic eyes: Nayland Smith was one of the few people who could meet his gaze without falling under their hypnotic power. The first of the popular mystery series introduces a pair of English detectives to their archnemesis, the diabolical Dr. Fu Manchu. A pulp fiction mystery classic from 1913, The Insidious Dr. Fu-Manchu is the story of Commissioner Nayland Smith and his trusted friend, Dr. Petrie, hot on the heels of the nefarious criminal mastermind Dr. Fu-Manchu, whose murderous motives may include nothing more than taking over the world. So yeah. He’s not a solid guy.

Narrated in British dialect with foreboding excitement by Gary Martin, our good guy duo tirelessly chase this evil man with "a face like Satan" through London’s back alleys, dark blown-out streets, and decrepit opium dens.

This first installment of the Fu-Manchu series will appeal to the fans of the Sherlock Holmes series that The Insidious Dr. Fu-Manchu was almost surely written for.
