The adventures of Tres Navarre, P.I. and Ph.D., continue to attract fans who love their spicy humor and suspense. When two English professors are killed in quick succession at the University of Texas at San Antonio, Tres is asked to finish teaching the semester’s literature classes. All he has to do is keep his investigation of the murders quiet and stay alive long enough to grade the final essays.

Gotta admit didn't see that ending coming! Always enjoy Tres Navarre. Good storyline, well written, well performed, & great story conclusion.

HUGE FAN of Rick Riordan and ADORE Tres Navarre but this was the first time to hear the book in audio and I’ll be honest, it was the first time I got annoyed with Tres! Tom Stechshulte does a phenomenal job recreating the characters into their own and made me realize the true tones and demeanor the author was trying to convey, instead of my own heroic perception I always read them in. I’ve reread the Tres Navarre series hundreds of times, now I’ll enjoy listening to them forever!

Love Tres Navarre!!

I am an adult, but I love Riordan's youth novels. This is too heavy, but I would not slam it except for the language. I get very tired of hearing the same word over and over.and over.

Not the Riordan I love

What disappointed you about The Last King of Texas?

THE BOOK WENT ON AND ON AND NOTHING WAS HAPPENING. THINGS WERE NOT EXPLAINED PROPERLY. EX: A PHONE CALL THAT CAME IN IN THE BEGINNING OF THE BOOK AND THEY ANSWERED IT LIKE THEY WERE A LOOKING FOR CREDIT INFORMATION. THEY WERE INVESTIGATING A CRIME.

What do you think your next listen will be?

THE FACE OF FEAR BY DEAN KOONTZ. READ IT YEARS AGO WHEN I WAS ABLE TO READ BOOKS. I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO THE AUDIO VERSION. I WILL LOVE IT I AM SURE.

Would you be willing to try another one of Tom Stechschulte’s performances?

I DIDN'T LIKE HIS PREFORMANCE BUT THE FACT I DISLIKED THE BOOK SO MUCH PLAYS A BIG PART IN MY NOT LIKING THE READER.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

BOREDOM AND IMPATIENCE WITH THE BOOK. I READ A FEW HOURS AND BOTH ME AND MY SIG. OTHER DID NOT LIKE THE BOOK AT ALL.

Any additional comments?

THIS SEEMED LIKE A GREAT STORY IF IT WAS JUST TOLD STRAIGHT FORWARDLY. BUT ALL THE MINUTIA RUINED IT.

HOW CAN ANYONE ENJOY THIS BOOK??

I love his books I find them exciting and they move quickly and they’re engaging but this is too detail-y almost like somebody else wrote it. For me this book was a No-go

Kind of boring
